This past weekend, Unified Practice attended Pacific Symposium 2019 in San Diego, CA. Pacific Symposium is one of our favorite annual events to attend — there’s nothing like seeing hundreds of our colleagues gather together to meet, reconnect, and learn. It’s always exciting to see what both new and returning vendors are offering to the industry.

For Unified Practice, the biggest highlight from our time at Symposium was announcing our new partnership with Helioscript, an all-in-one natural pharmacy management system. With Helioscript, clinics, practitioners, educational institutions, manufacturers, and distributors can take their natural medicine inventory online to receive and fulfill herbal prescriptions on behalf of practitioners across the country. Not only does having an online natural pharmacy provide the opportunity for those with a large herbal inventory to evolve their business and increase revenue, but it also helps practitioners provide their patients with herbal medicine without maintaining an inventory themselves.

“We’re excited about this partnership,” Unified Practice’s vice president of product and co-founder, Kenan Akbas said. “With an innovating online pharmacy management system like Helioscript, clinics can create or expand their revenue stream by offering natural pharmacy fulfillment services and provide more choice to their patients. Unified Practice users can seamlessly access all of Helioscript’s network of decentralized pharmacies. Pharmacies and leading manufacturers have access to a new streamlined process to sell herbs.

The Helioscript integration with Unified Practice is expected to launch by the end of March 2020. In the meantime, check out Helioscript’s website to learn more about all the awesome features the platform offers.

Another major highlight for our Unified Practice team was meeting and chatting with our practitioners.  We were thrilled at how many people stopped by just to say hello, go through a demonstration, ask questions, tell us how much they loved using our platform, and share what features they’d like to see added — most, if not all, of which are already in the works.

Like every year, we came away feeling enlightened and inspired by all of the wonderful guest speakers who are leading the charge in breaking down barriers and stereotypes in our industry. For example, we loved hearing from Hillary Thing, MS, LAc. of Uprooting Lyme, whose highly specialized practice works with patients who are suffering from Lyme disease. Similarly, we were thrilled to hear Moshe Heller talk about the treatment of pediatric allergies with TCM.

We’d definitely call this year’s Pacific Symposium a massive success. We’d like to thank Pacific College of Oriental Medicine for continuing to put on a great event for our industry year after year!
